Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.
